Troop Ride 2009

A parade style motorcycle ride to support our troops.  This year's ride will be on July 11, 2009.

The closer the ride gets the more excited we get!  Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us.

Due to certain restrictions, tickets for the barbeque will need to be purchased during registration.

Also, there is some construction on Rt. 415 and we will have to change the route just a bit.

We are actively seeking volunteers to assist with the Troop Ride event.  If you are interested in being a volunteer please contact Gerald McDonald by phone at 607-378-6461 or via email mcdonald.gerald@sacusa.com .

If you wish to make a donation to the Troop Ride please send donations to:

We made a few changes today.

  • The flyer is now posted on the home page along with a link to a printable .pdf file.
  • The photos should be more accessible to you now.  Please let us know if you are still having problems.
  • All news and updates will be posted here on the News page instead of the home page.
  • 94 Rock is now listed on our sponsors page.

Even more sponsors have been added and a couple more will be added over the next day or two.

By the way, we would like to send out a special thank you to Kris Truskolaski for designing the Troop Ride logo.  Thank you Kris, the logo couldn't be any more perfect.  We love how it incorporates the motorcycle, the map of the finger lakes and our nation's colors into a very professional graphic.

I added quite a few new sponsors.  Check them out on the Sponsors page.  The amount of support we are receiving is overwhelming.

I have some answers to a few questions that have been asked.

Registration the day of the ride will begin at 7am and the ride will leave at 9:30am.  The rest of the schedule for that day will be posted here soon.  The registration fees will be the same as last year.  $15 for riders and $10 for passengers.  The fee includes a T-Shirt.  There will be no pre-registration this year.

The flyers are in the works.  As soon as they are printed we will be dropping off a supply at each sponsor's business.

I have heard there might be an issue accessing last year's photos on the hosting site we are using.  Please let me know if you can't get to them and any type of error message you are seeing.  I might have to switch photo hosting sites.

Welcome!

We are so excited about the ride this year. The committee is already hard at work planning to make this year even better than last year.

Here are just a few of the things we are working on:

  • The route will be very similar to last year. We are still looking at some possible rest stops and deciding where the ride will start and end.
  • We have a new logo this year that will be on the t-shirts. It will be revealed here very soon. Last year many people told us they wanted more color on the shirts. We heard you and we will make that happen this year. Be prepared for some red, white and blue!
  • There will be no pre-registration this year. Our volunteers did such a great job at last year's ride getting everyone registered so quickly that we feel there won't be a problem without the pre-registration.
  • I would like to take a second to apologize to a couple of people. Between working full-time, taking 8 credit hours up at CCC and keeping Dave out of trouble I didn't have much time to update the web site. I promised a few people I would post the pics they emailed to me and I failed to do that. Now I am so sad because I didn't realize hotmail deletes your emails if you don't log in every so often. All of those precious pics that people sent me and the comments they wanted posted with them are now gone. Please, if you would like your photos of last year posted send them to troopride@stny.rr.com and Dave and I will post them on the photos page. Don't forget to put your name in the email if you want it posted with the photo or a short comment.

Do you have an idea to make Troop Ride even better? Let us know! Email us, call us, stop us on the street even! We love to hear feedback. Check back later this weekend for more updates.
